Angus McNae marks your card ahead of a strong afternoon of action from the Curragh and Market Rasen.
2.52 Market Rasen: SMART CASUAL
This horse is still a maiden but the application of cheekpieces brought about an improved effort last time out when finishing second at Leicester.
The headgear is retained, and it is interesting to note that he was well supported last time out.
This is a weak race and provides Smart Casual with the ideal opportunity to shed his maiden tag.
3.45 Curragh: RAADOBARG
Won this three years ago.
has a good record fresh and boasts some very solid handicap form last season, including a very good third at Ascot in a competitive class two handicap off a mark of 99.
He gets to race here off 95. Off a similar lay-off, he was a very good third in this last year off a 13lb higher mark and looks set to go even closer this time.
3.57 Market Rasen: GEORDIE NIGHT
This horse comes here in good form, having finished third here last time out.
Geordie Night was not seen at his best given that he was held up in a slowly-run race and was forced very wide on the home turn when looking to make up ground.
He did well in the circumstances to finish where he did and looks set to go well again at a track that clearly suits him.
4.20 Curragh: FIRST WAVE
First Wave comes here on the back of two starts which were both full of promise.
His debut was at the Curragh where he was beaten a neck by Expanded, who went on to be second in the Dewhurst at Newmarket.
He then finished second at Dundalk at the end of last season to his useful stable companion Serengeti.
A repeat of either effort will see him go close here.
