Lockinge an option for Ed Walker's globe-trotter Stormy Antarctic

Sun 12 May 2019

Ed Walker’s globe-trotter Stormy Antarctic could go on his travels again shortly as his trainer decides on the next port of call for the six-year-old.

The much-travelled gelding could run either in the Group Two Premio Presidente Della Republica in Rome on Sunday or stay nearer home for the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury the day before.

“He’s flying and is in great shape,” said Walker.

“He runs next week in either the Lockinge or a Group Two in Italy, so we’ll see.”

Stormy Antarctic got the new campaign off to a flying start with victory in a Group Three at Dusseldorf, after ending 2018 in the Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin where he was only beaten four and a quarter lengths in eighth place.
