Walk progressing well as Hunt seeking to raise charity's profile

John Hunt provided an update to Luck On Sunday on day two of a 120-mile walk to raise awareness of the Hunt Family Fund, a charity dedicated to helping people after violence to women.
The leading commentator tragically lost wife Carol and daughters, Louise and Hannah, when they were murdered in 2024, but is committed to new projects to help honour their memories.
Surrounded by friends and family, Hunt – along with daughter Amy and her husband Gareth – are walking from Bushey in Hertfordshire to Bournemouth, a place cherished by the family when the children were growing up.
And he provided an upbeat bulletin to host Nick Luck on Sunday: "There's a few sore feet and plasters flying around, but that was always going to be the case, wasn't it? But the main thing is we're fuelled and buoyed by amazing support.
"And judging by the incredible range of contributions that we're having towards the fund, I think the message is getting out there more and more.
"Obviously, when we finish the walk, there'll be some responsibility as to how to spend that money. But we'll try and do that as quickly as we can and try and get it to as many good places as we can."
Providing affordable counselling is top of Hunt's priorities.
"Amy and I needed counselling pretty much straight away," he explained. "Victim support tried their best, but it wasn't enough for us.
"We both realised we needed to go off in pursuit of high quality counselling at a very early stage, and I can't tell you how difficult that is to find.
"Even if you've got the money, it's hard to find the right person to match up to your specific needs. And there are so many of the young women and girls who need that sort of service.
"We've teamed up with a great team in Hertfordshire, a place called Forever Living, who understand that need. They are helping to provide that service free of charge. And they're so forward thinking."
