Betting expert Dave Nevison likes a pair at Catterick, and is also sweet on one at Pontefract. Watch how all his selections fare live on Racing TV.
3.00 Salisbury: Indian Creek
After a lengthy losing run, Indian Creek is now 16lb lower than the last time he won a race and can run in a 0-75 handicap, which is by far the lowest grade of race he has ever raced in.
He will still need to do better than he has been doing but the recent signs have been encouraging. He got bumped at the start at Windsor last time out but was finishing well, giving the distinct impression that he was building up to something in the near future.
His stable had a winner at this track in the middle of last month, so are in good enough form despite few recent runners. He should be a decent price here and Indian Creek’s winning turn is overdue.
6.10 Catterick: Laudable
Laudable improved in midsummer last season to win three handicaps, including one over course and distance. He also subsequently ran well several times, getting placed off marks a little higher than he runs off here.
He has largely been claimer ridden since he won but Jason Hart takes over once more here, having won on him last August.
The five-year-old improved markedly for his seasonal reappearance and ran a good second at Ayr last time, so I am confident he will go well again off the same mark.
7.40 Catterick: Myboymax
should be able to reverse recent course and distance form with Zephlyn as he is 6lb better off. The latter has won again since without showing improvement.
Micky Hammond’s gelding didn’t get the best passage through last time and could have finished a little closer with a clear run. He knows his way around Catterick and hopefully won’t meet trouble this time.
He should be spot on for his third race of the season and this looks a decent opportunity.
