Tuesday tips: Dave Nevison shares his three best bets

No No Tango was making steady progress over hurdles for Charlie Longsdon, gradually getting better as he was stepped up in trip. 

He ran a promising race on his first run over fences last season but wasn’t seen again and now reappears for Harry Derham, who has an excellent strike rate with horses running form his yard for the first time. 

It’s very possible Derham has taken on a horse who has plenty of upside and who is favourably handicapped having been dropped 4lb from that first chase run.  The market will be a good indicator in a race that has plenty of interesting contenders. 

His crack training partnership seem to have campaigned Trafalgar Square with a handicap campaign in mind and have switched him into 0-100 grade at the first opportunity. 

He has less severe headgear here with cheekpieces replacing blinkers, which will hopefully enable him to settle better and conserve energy. 

He last ran off the Flat off a mark of 72, so an opening mark of 93 could well underestimate him.  He ran his best race over this course and distance and certainly doesn’t have to improve too much to go close.  

Laser Focus represents a stable in the best of form and given his 5lb claiming jockey has already scored on him twice, he has plenty going for him in his bid to land the hat trick. 

 He had no problem with a step up to 3m at Fakenham last week, but he doesn’t need an extreme test to score as he bolted up at Huntingdon over roughly the same trip. 

Decent ground suits him perfectly and if he is still in the same form after three quick runs he will be tough to beat.
