Top tipster Dave Nevison has three fancies for the racing action at Catterick on Tuesday - watch how his selections fare live on Racing TV.
Rich Belief represents a stable that have had a good year on turf and a jockey who has also done little wrong this season.
Couple this with the fact that he ran his best race on this type of going last season off a mark 9lb higher, and I think it is probably worth chancing him over this trip following a short absence.
He has hung badly on occasions but did pass the post first off 78 last year, only to get disqualified and suffer a raise in the weights for his troubles.
Having disappointed on his first three starts this season, he produced a better performance last time out in August and provided the reason for an absence since is not serious, he is well enough in to beat some unreliable types here.
Harrison Shaw’s useful 3lb claim plus a further 2lb drop in the weights might just take this one down to a mark that he can now win off now.
I thought there was encouragement in his last run, though obviously not quite enough for those that backed him heavily in a more competitive handicap than this one.
Lord Oberon finished fourth at Haydock last time
He has had issues and has been lightly-raced for a sprint handicapper, but he has never run at 0-85 level in a handicap before and is down two grades from that latest run.
His last win came in a 0-105 contest in November, which hopefully suggests he is a horse to side with towards the end of the season.
I couldn’t have fancied this horse any stronger than I did at Newbury and he won in the style I expected after being heavily backed. Although I don’t often go in too heavily on horses who will be short in the betting in handicaps, I can see no danger here.
He gets no penalty for that win in an apprentice race and Ben Curtis is not a bad replacement in the saddle!
