3.03 Catterick: Methgal
Methgal is the sprinter in form in this low grade handicap and has plenty going for him here. Horses drawn low are generally favoured over this trip at Catterick, as well as those that race prominently.
Methgal is now effectively drawn next to the rail and, given he has no pacesetters drawn close to him, he may well be able to dictate his own pace from the start.
He won nicely off a 4lb lower mark on his penultimate start before a good second off today’s mark last time out.
The move from Ireland to the Dylan Cunha yard has clearly suited Methgal very well and, whilst he in this sort of form, he has to be the selection.

4.25 Goodwood: Decalogue
It could well be third time lucky off a mark of 69 for Decalogue who has signalled he will be winning soon at this level judged on his two most recent starts.
The three-year-old gelding is still a maiden, but has finished well to be placed over a mile and may well be suited by a small step up in trip here, as well as the likely strong pace in this handicap.
Ground either side of good has been fine for him lately and, if he gets the start right this afternoon, he could be another for the excellent Saffie Osborne.
5.00 Goodwood: Marengo Storm
Marengo Storm has been largely progressive this season since he won over this distance at Kempton back in May. He ran well in a more competitive handicap here last time and would have done even better but for the winner carrying him to the left in the last furlong.
He remains off the same mark and his misfortune in running might well have preserved his rating and he could well reap the benefit here.
Finley Marsh, who rode him to win on his previous start, is back on board this afternoon and he can certainly go close.
