Tuesday's Racing Tips: Experience can prove key at Redcar

With 100-1 and 200-1 winners to try and find, Bank Holiday Monday proved a bit of a minefield for most punters, so let's hope Tuesday's puzzles prove a little easier to unravel as we try and keep the betting bank ticking over ahead of the big action coming up at the weekend.
Last ran on turf off a mark 5lb higher and is now back down to the rating off which he won off over this course last autumn. He hasn’t figured too much since, but his last two efforts have given cause for hope at this trip and his trainer David Barron is enjoying a good run of form.
He ran as if needing this trip when staying on really well over seven furlongs at Newcastle two outings ago and when upped to a mile didn’t get the best of runs, giving the impression he might have gone close otherwise. This is a very modest race despite the number of runners and a good pace should hopefully get him into things.
Clearly more was expected when this horse reappeared after an absence last time as he was backed into favouritism. He ran poorly but must have needed it more than hoped - surely if there had been a problem, he would have been given time to get over it?
I am certainly happy to give him another chance as the form of his win at Kempton last summer couldn’t have worked out better. The four who followed him home that day all went on to win next time out and have developed into useful handicappers so it was clearly a strong event and a mark of 75 is very lenient on that showing.
Dave Nevison hopes this piece of Kempton form will prove key
He is dropped down in trip here which hopefully will suit and switched to turf for the first time. His dam and best half-brother were almost Listed class on grass so I have no concerns there and hopefully the double headgear (blinkers and tongue strap) will work for him.
With probably the best rcent form and very likely the best jockey on board, provided that he doesn’t bounce from his promising reappearance effort, I am hopeful this horse can reward a good bit of placing here in another race with tons of runners but few with discernible chances.
She didn’t go on after a really good reappearance last season but that below-par effort at Newcastle was down at five furlongs, nor was she was not seen again afterwards, so it seems fair to assume that there was an issue.
She only just got run out of it last time out by an in-form sprinter and with Pat Millman's strength and experience in the saddle it will take a good performance to get past her once she hits the front, possibly having been led in the early stages by Langholm who is berthed close by.
