3.00 Curragh: Cross Of Stars
The early signs regarding Baaeed’s prospects at stud are good, with Curracloe a potential star for John Murtagh, and another juvenile filly – Cross Of Stars – is appealing here at 40-1. Of course she has to improve even to place here, with The Good Wife the guts of five lengths ahead of her at Punchestown, but there was so much to like about that run and Joe Murphy must rate her to even contemplate running in this. Her smart dam was progressive and she was an expensive yearling, so there are ample reasons to expect her to be good.
3.35 Curragh: Contorsion
This is a cracker for a Tuesday in late October. Contorsion’s sire Nathaniel could have a star in Sunday’s winner Come What May. This thrice-raced filly was thrown into a tough level on Irish debut at Gowran in May and ran really well, suggesting this rating is workable. John Gleeson is booked and 6-1 looks worth taking. Bay Of Stars is feared.
4.10 Curragh: Gentle Soda
This Churchill filly looks one to do better for her handicap debut when sixth at Killarney, unable to quicken but getting into a challenging position up the rail and flattening out. The Navan run on her second start reads very well for one rated 66 and her yard is in form, with 20-1 attractive each-way.
