Presenter Tom Stanley tipped Commonwealth Cup winner Eqtidaar at 16-1 last week and likes a trio running at Chester this evening.
I loved last week at Ascot and a Friday winner at double figures helped. What a five days though, miss it already! I like aiming at Chester on decent ground so three selections from there on Friday
A ten-race maiden for his previous yard, he’s had the one go for Richard Fahey and is interesting back up in trip.
His best efforts have come keeping on over six furlongs and he’s definitely bred for at least this far. Well drawn to attack, and he likes to be handy, he has a very capable rider in the saddle in the form of Connor Murtagh and looks underestimated at 15-2.
Feline Groovy heads the market and she could be well treated on handicap bow. Her debut form is strong and the step up in trip should suit.
That said, the selection may well prove tough to pass. She has handicap experience and, for all she’s yet to completely prove herself at this trip, the track will help and so will having Franny Norton on board. I think she’ll get her own way and hopefully not be pegged back at 5-2.
A winner off 8lb lower last month, he was placed at a big price up in trip last time out at Sundown and even further looks set to suit here.
The ground is a big plus for this son of Arcano, he’s lightly raced for this yard and I think he’ll be handy from a lowish draw in a race where there’s not bundles of pace on and just four other runners. He’s the most likely winner for me at 9-4.
