2.12 Bath: Equion (nap)
Equion is a confirmed mudlark who was at his best this time last year when he won two races, including one off a rating of 68, a mark 12lb higher than he runs off here.
His rating plummeted while he was racing on going too quick for him, and it looks as though trainer Tony Carroll has performed a feat in getting him down to this winnable mark.
He was rated even lower than this mark when he came back to winning form at Ffos las on soft ground recently, and his subsequent run on the all-weather can have a line put through it, as he was ridden way off the pace.
His hold-up tactics will be perfectly suited by this test, especially if the predicted strong pace ensues, and he looks the right choice here.

2.42 Bath: Albus Anne
I backed this mare at a huge price when she was third at Salisbury on her penultimate start, so I don’t feel too badly about her winning last time out as I thought the ground was likely going to be too quick for her.
Albus Anne is a confirmed soft/heavy ground performer, and an Autumn specialist who has gained nearly all of her victories in October and November. She has also scored six times at Bath.
It is difficult to envisage her in a race more ideally suited to her than this, especially as she is a hold-up performer in a race predicted to be run at a strong pace.
She also clearly gets on well with 7lb claimer Olivia Haines, who won on her last time out.

This is a really interesting 0-140 handicap, with several runners appearing as though they are using it as a perfectly situated stepping stone to big races at Cheltenham and Newbury in November.
For that reason, I think the Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies-trained Big Ticket might well be the one to side with here.
The five-year-old had a mixed season over hurdles, winning his novice but then getting inexplicably beaten, when sent off at long odds-on, on his final start. However, his mother was a decent chaser, and he definitely has the physique for fences, so could be a big improver now he goes over fences.
Big Ticket easily won his only start in an Irish point-to-point, which further suggests he is likely to be better over fences and, given the yard have no problem getting one ready first time out, a good run looks highly likely.
