The Irish Angle: Johnny Ward's best bets for Cork and Navan on Sunday

Despite there being two Irish cards on Sunday, it is not an afternoon laden with obvious betting opportunities, but we have some very good horses to marvel at, notably Gold Cup hope Minella Indo in the BetVictor Make Your Best Bet Chase at Navan.

Champion Bumper runner-up Appreciate It makes his hurdling at Cork, whilst Navan concludes with a smart fillies' bumper.

Be lucky.

1.25 Cork: Pairc Na Ngael

I'm giving this horse another chance. Out of the brilliant Solerina, he showed promise on his second maiden hurdle start, and got very tired on his seasonal return. It is still early days with him.

1.45 Navan: Blackbow

It made little sense to me how long this horse hung around before going chasing. Not many of these will be fancied here, JP McManus having some notable runners, and Blackbow should make into an exciting chaser.

3.10 Cork: Capuccimix

The ground will suit this smart horse, who was second to Cash Back and Chosen Mate before routing his rivals in a Naas chase in March. With the stable going really well, he could be well-treated here.
