Top tips for Kempton, Leopardstown and Aintree this week!
Danny Archer is joined by Katie Midwinter and Ash Symonds in the latest episode of The Formbook. The trio look ahead to all the big race action at Kempton's Ladbrokes Christmas Festival, the top quality meetings at Aintree, Leopardstown and Wetherby - all live on Racing TV, plus the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow.
All three of our experts have a different idea of the winner of the King George VI Chase, so make sure to listen in and find out why they fancy their selections for Friday's feature, in which Katie Midwinter thinks an 18-1 chance makes plenty of each-way appeal.
Ash Symonds is also particularly sweet on a 12-1 chance in the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown on December 27, saying: "Captain Cody has top weight but he won the Scottish National so impressively. I think he could have won by 20 lengths, not just a length and he was really good that day. He's up 10lb but he ran a nice race in the Drinmore on his reappearance, beaten less than ten lengths by Romeo Coolio who is probably going to oblige in the two-mile Grade One.
"He's obviously back to his optimum conditions now and he showed that he was a graded horse in novice hurdles.
"He's developed now into a really really smart chaser and I could see him running a huge race in the Paddy Power
"I wouldn't be surprised if this horse turns into a National type in time and I think he can be competitive off a mark of 150."
We hope you enjoy the show, and please feel free to comment with any views of fancies you have across the festive period.
