1.25 Naas: Firefox
This useful hurdler made a big impression on his chasing debut at Down Royal, where he looked to be a natural over the larger obstacles.
I thought he would follow up next time out in the Drinmore at Fairyhouse but he lost out to Croke Park in a race where the steady pace did not suit him.
The form looks good, though, with Croke Park subsequently winning the Grade One Novice at Leopardstown on Boxing Day. Firefox can make amends here.
1.55 Naas: The Yellow Clay
A quickfire double for Gordon Elliott is on the cards with this improving novice.
He was impressive in victory at Navan and then won at the same track last time out in a race that was very steadily run. He had to dig deep to get up and is much better than the bare result. He can make it 4/4 over hurdles.
CLUB DAYS
2.30 Naas: Joystick
Willie Mullins has won three of the past eight renewals of this contest and he can land it again with Joystick.
He shaped with encouragement on his debut over hurdles, finishing fourth at Leopardstown. He got tired going to the last and like many of the Mullins team this season looks sure to improve for the run. There is not much strength in depth in this race and Joystick can take advantage.
3.05 Naas: Miss Lia
This filly ran well when fifth at Fairyhouse on her return from a four month lay-off and can build on that performance here.
That was her first run in a handicap off a mark of 97 and it showed that she can win off her current rating.
Philp Rothwell has his horses in fine form and this filly can provide him with another success.
