Jack Kennedy retains the ride and he is a confident selection.
Pats Choice put up some useful performances in bumpers without winning and then took a leap forward when runner-up on his debut over hurdles last time. He travelled well at Leopardstown and looked as if he might win when hitting the front turning for home but was run out of it after the last to be beaten just 1½ lengths by Brooklynn Glory - in turn pulling eight lengths clear of the third.
A repeat of that effort should be good enough here.
You will not go far wrong following Ger Lyons and Colin Keane and this could be another winner for them.
Lust was an impressive six-length winner over a mile at Gowan Park when last seen in October, making all and forging clear to win off a mark of 90. That victory was in a fast time and a 9lbs rise in the weights may not be enough to stop him here.
Lust drops in trip to seven furlongs, but I have no problem with that given he won over this distance at the Curragh last season.
He is top-rated in this handicap by some way but is capable of giving weight away all round before going on to better things - probably in Graded events.
Another Willie Mullins winner looks likely here as Egality Mans steps into Graded company after landing a beginners chase with considerable ease last time.
He had been prone to mistakes in his previous two chases but was much more sure-footed last time when stepping up in trip to three miles. This looks to be a good opportunity to make his mark as a novice chaser.
Egality Mans holds an entry in the Grade One Fairyhouse Gold Cup Novices Chase and this looks to be a perfect stepping stone provided he keeps the errors to a minimum.
He is already being talked of in some quarters as a future Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner and this is only his second start in a bumper, but admittedly his debut in this sphere was impressive.
He bolted at Gowran Park, tanking through the race and thrashing his rivals in a performance that may have had connections thinking about the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.
It seems as though they want to take a more conservative route with Mercurey and he has an ideal opportunity to win again and keep the tongues wagging as regards next year's Festival.
