Sunday tips: Angus McNae has four fancies

Top presenter Angus McNae shares his best bets for the action at Kempton and Leopardstown, plus don't miss his analysis of Champions Day on Monday.

1.55 Leopardstown: Maestro Bernstein

This regally bred colt will benefit for a step up to nine furlongs. He is by Wootton Bassett out of the high-class race mare Found and had he not been ridden so aggressively at Naas last week he might well have already lost his maiden tag.
He was committed for home a long way out that day and paid for that premature move in the closing stages. Nonetheless, he still pulled four lengths clear of the third, flashing plenty of ability. A more judicious ride will see him in the winner’s enclosure.

2.25 Leopardstown: Sallaal

Roger Varian sends Sallaal to Leopardstown for this Listed contest and he will take plenty of beating.
He was an impressive winner of a handicap at Hamilton in  a fast time before finishing an excellent third to Cicero's Gift in a Listed contest at Sandown last time.
He might have found the ground too deep for him to utilise his turn of foot that day and with the ground likely to be quicker here - and with a hood fitted for the first time - he is the one to beat given he has only run five times and is open to plenty of improvement.

3.16 Kempton: Authorised Art

A drop in grade on his reappearance can work the trick for Authorised Art. He was a fair third in a class two handicap chase at Ascot on his latest start and faces class three rivals this time.
He has taken well to chasing and has the best lifetime Race IQ Jump Index value in the race of 7.6. He ran on this card last year when staying on strongly behind Rubaud in the Listed hurdle and has some back class, being a Grade three chase winner at Tipperary in 2022. He will appreciate the grade drop and should go well.

3.26 Leopardstown: Trustyourinstinct

Trustyourinstinct has already had a productive season and can win again. He was weak in the market when a disappointment last time at The Curragh, but he had won his previous two starts at that track in good style and a return to the form he showed there should be good enough in this Listed contest.
While he is effective over further, a strongly run race at this ten-furlong trip should be ideal. He might have needed the run last time out after a short lay-off and if anywhere near his best will take plenty of beating.
