Race 1 - British EBF Premier Fillies' Handicap
Three-year-olds have fared well in this 2000m (10f) handicap, and sole four-year-old Seren Star looks up against it with stamina still to prove. Preference is for her stablemate HOSEKI who is on a real roll this season and won with more in hand at Haydock last month than the winning margin suggests. Supplicate appeared to have every chance at Redcar, but is not one to quickly discard given her profile, a comment that also applies to Pendella who ran a well-handicapped stablemate of the selection close at York last time. The drop in grade/return to quicker ground should see a better effort from Light Of Paris, so she looks a bigger danger than Lady Dora Mae or Black Chiffon.
Tom Marquand spoke to Racing TV after Hoseki's Haydock win Race 2 - £200,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes
A smaller field for this 1400m (7f) sales race than in previous years, which should make the task straightforward for NIGHT IN VEGAS. He has a touch of class (fifth at Royal Ascot and third at Glorious Goodwood, both in Group Twos) and has won similar events on his last two starts, shaping on the latter occasion as if this slightly longer trip will suit. Zigazig Ah got within a couple of lengths of the selection earlier in the season but – unless there is a big draw bias - there’s no reason why she should reverse the placings on the same terms. Velociraptor has strong place claims than the returning Choreography.
Race 3 - BetMGM Sun Chariot Stakes
City Of Memphis should come on for her recent run in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown after a mid-season break, but – unproven on ground this quick – there's no obvious reason why she should turn the form around with that day’s winner BLUE BOLT in this 1600m (8f) Group One. Andrew Balding’s mare has gone from strength to strength this season and may well have the tactical advantage over her main rival. If Moon Target can fend off Secret Of Life early on then she may get an easy lead and could put in a season’s best effort as a result. 1000 Guineas runner-up Evolutionist has been behind Blue Bolt the last twice, but looks the pick of the rest.
Blue Bolt beat several of these rivals last time out at Leopardstown Race 4 - HKJC World Pool Handicap
Three-year-olds have won seven of the last nine renewals of this 2400m (12f) contest, which looks sure to be run at a good gallop due to the presence of Evanesco (the pick of that age group), Topteam and Blue Hercules. However, that should suit the more experienced SPORTINGSILVERMINE who usually travels powerfully and has plenty of form on quick ground at venues with a testing finish. The step back up in distance should suit Tycoon, who may be better treated than Primo Lara who has shot up the weights this season, and Doncaster runner-up Ernst Blofeld.
Race 5 - Gamble Responsibly At Betmgm Maiden Stakes
None of the quartet in this 1400m (7f) maiden can be discounted. Altius was backed off the boards on debut at Sandown, but over-raced from his wide draw. Better is expected here for a yard chasing three in a row in this race, but the stronger form is held by Kicking Bear who shaped with great promise at Newbury in August. The form of that maiden is mixed, but he’s likely to improve plenty. Preference, however, is for newcomer AFIF who is beautifully bred and the booking of Colin Keane looks significant. Procyon completes the field. He cost €470,000 as a yearling and is related to plenty of winners including Sonny Liston who was a five and a half-length winner on debut.

Race 6 - Betmgm EBF Maiden Stakes
Another small field to pick through. This 1600m (8f) trip should be ideal for newcomer Mublish, who cost €2,250,000 and is from the family of Derby winner Wings of Eagles, but ROYAL QUEST sets a strong standard and is preferred. He wasn’t knocked about when fourth to Al Jabbar on debut at Doncaster last month, and the third has come out and won since, so the form looks good. This is a third quick run for Chapel Stream who has shown ability but may come into his own once qualified for handicaps after this start.
Race 7 - Newmarket Fillies' Handicap
This 1400m (7f) fillies’ handicap can go to TRYST. She raced away from the main action when only fifth at Ascot last time but is of more interest for her wins at Yarmouth and on the July Course earlier in the season. Havana Pusey is back on a fair mark, but may prove vulnerable to the three-year-olds, including Starlight Lass (who rates better than her York flop) and the lightly-raced Enchant. The step back up in trip will suit Polka Blue, while a more patient ride could see course and distance winner Velvet Rhythm in a better light given she went off too fast at Epsom last time.
