Saturday tips: Dave Nevison has four strong fancies

Betting expert Dave Nevison is taking aim at four handicaps divided between the meetings at Warwick and Newbury on Saturday. Enjoy the action at Warwick and Naas live on Racing TV.

1.50 Newbury: Kruger Park

Kruger Park does well when ridden up with the pace and I was on him when he used such tactics successfully over this course last season.
He has twice run well this term but has been too fresh and keen. I am hopeful that he will have calmed down a little for those two runs and will have more energy for the finish in what will be a real test.
His second last time came in a strong affair that has worked out well and a rise of 2lb is  not insurmountable. Freddie Gingell was on board when he won here and gets on well with him.

3.15 Warwick: Shakem Up’arry

Shakem Up’arry got no further than the sixth fence last time - too early to tell how he was going to perform - but he has been dropped a couple of pounds in the interim and that may prove generous in a race that, by definition, lacks potential improvers.
The fall last time was out of character as he is usually a good jumper and Warwick is the ideal course for such a horse to get into a rhythm.
He is only now 4lb higher than when he won the Plate at Cheltenham last March, and that is offset by Callum Pritchard taking off 5lb. The combination look very well in here.

3.35 Newbury: Favour And Fortune

Secret Squirrel and Fiercely Proud have done followers of my column huge favours in recent weeks and I am loathe to desert either of them. However,  Favour And Fortune looked one for top class handicaps after he won the Scottish Champion Hurdle last season and I fancy he will be spot on for this.
Alan King’s gelding won his first two bumpers plus his first two hurdle races last season before that Ayr success, but this is still just his eighth race over Jumps and he  looks as though he has improvement in him.
His reappearance effort at Ascot was disappointing on the face of it but looked as though there was an eye to this handicap and future targets.
He was never in the race, and I would be very surprised if it was the same story this time. I feel the galloping Newbury track could suit him even better than the tight Ayr track and bring out the best in Favour and Fortune.

3.48 Warwick: Act Of Authority

Lewis Saunders has already won twice on this gelding this season and his 7lb claim will come in very handy once more.
Act Of Authority was a good fourth at Aintree on his latest start and the first and third have already won again since, so the form looks strong.
The seven-year-old is off the same mark here and is a horse with a winning habit. I fancy him to go well again here and doubt whether a furlong further than he has been before will disadvantage him.
