Our Irish racing expert Johnny Ward thinks two horses are worth following on the Flat at Killarney on Saturday. Enjoy jumps action on the big day of the year at Gowran too live on Racing TV and Racing TV Extra.
Gowran, in some respects, marks the return of the National Hunt season on Saturday with some big guns contesting the feature.
There was plenty of rain in Ireland on Friday and it looks as though it will ease at Gowran, but especially so at Killarney.
I've gone for two who should appreciate the ground at the County Kerry venue. Be lucky.
3.05 Killarney: Yokkell
This filly, by Fast Company, handles yielding and this should suit too. Jamie Powell is excellent value for his claim and she comes here in cracking form, almost defying quite a sizeable hike at Down Royal.
5.25 Killarney: Six Feet Apart
A Listed winner as a juvenile hurdler, she was considered good enough to run in a Grade One and her pedigree is highly encouraging with a view to the ground here. She should be very hard to beat, despite a relatively beatable rating. Her yard is in terrific form.
