The sixth All Weather Championship season officially started three weeks ago but this Saturday is when it really kicks into top gear with Lingfield hosting two Fast-Track Qualifiers
To help get in the mood for top class all-weather action here are four selections from Kempton on Wednesday evening.
This daughter of Australia ran a good race on her debut at Newbury when going down by just a neck.
The winner that day, Muchly, had previous race experience and the pair of them pulled 3¾ lengths away from the rest.
Roger Charlton’s runners tend to improve for the experience and
Lady Adelaide showed enough raw talent to suggest that she will be winning soon enough.
The nine newcomers in the race will have to put up a huge performance to get the better of her.
Spell is a first race ride back for Sean Levey since a nasty fall at Salisbury in late June.
An integral part of the Richard Hannon yard, it looks possible that his boss is attempting to give him a winner on his comeback.
All four of this filly’s previous runs have been solid (including when a close fifth here at Kempton in early October) and she does not look badly handicapped on her nursery debut given her proximity to Broken Spear at York last time out.
She should also be well suited by the step up to 7f.
Keith Dalgleish sends this three-year-old gelded son of Epaulette 400 miles south, from his Carluke base, to make his all-weather debut.
Although he has yet to follow up his debut win at Ayr he has run some good races in defeat this summer and breeding-wise he should be seen to much better effect on a synthetic surface.
He is a half-sibling to sixwinners on the all-weather, including Cookie Royale who won the 2014 Lady Wulfruna Stakes at Wolverhampton. He looks a solid each-way play in an open race.
Caspar The Cub bids for a hat-trick of wins at Kempton having appeared to win with something in hand over course and distance 18 days ago.
He represents a stable whose horses continue to run well at present (25 per cent strike rate in the past fortnight) and with question marks hanging over most of his rivals here he simply looks the most solid proposition.
