Queenohearts (9-2) gained some valuable black type after showing a tenacious attitude to take top honours in the EBF Stallions/TBA Mares' Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Sandown.
The Stuart Edmunds-trained five-year-old successfully took a step up in class in her stride to claim the Listed affair by a neck from Queens Cave.
Edmunds said: "She was very awkward when we got her, but she has grown up a bit."
He added: "She is good as gold to ride and she always has been but she is fairly stroppy in the stable. I will put up with that.
"She had to tough it out there but she is very nice. She has got a massive future in front of her as she is a big, scopey, unfurnished mare.
"We will see how she comes out of this. I don't think we will go to Aintree and if we go anywhere we might think of Punchestown.
"I'd be 80 per cent she is done for the year."
