Poet's Word could kick-off his 2018 campaign in the Dubai Sheema Classic in the spring following his fine effort at Ascot last Saturday.
The four-year-old, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, was second best to the impressive Cracksman in the Champion Stakes after occupying the same position behind Decorated Knight in the Irish equivalent at Leopardstown last month.
Those races were the first time Poet's Word had ventured into Group One company and his next chance at the top level might come at
Meydan on March 31.
"He's come out of it really well. It was a good run. I saw him on Wednesday morning and he looks great," said Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Saeed Suhail.
"He's obviously been entered for Hong Kong as it was a free entry, but I should think the next place for him would be the Sheema Classic."
