A sensational result in the #Scoop6 as Majestic Dawn's win in the Cambridgeshire @NewmarketRace lands the spoils for a single unit.— Tote (@ToteRacing) September 26, 2020
That's a huge dividend of £285,296.90 heading their way!!
The going at the Curragh on Sunday is described as Good to Yielding on both the straight and the round course. It doesn’t look like rain will make things more testing, so it will be a level playing field for all comers with a little cut in the ground.
SEAMIE HEFFERNAN is like a fine wine that gets better with age and Aidan O’Brien’s jockey boasts a 30% strike rate here at the Curragh, with 11 winners from 37 rides in 2020. He looks set to get the Placepot pool off to a winning start with VAN GOGH in the 1:25pm. This horse is banker material in the opener, dipping back into maiden company having contested Listed or Group races on his last three outings.
Seamie Heffernan is also responsible for our Banker pick, running in Leg 6 in the shape of ORDER OF AUSTRALIA. There are some tricky legs in this pool, so we’ll take the obvious ones where we can and if you’re lucky enough to make it past the first five races, this colt looks the one to be on. With excellent form to his name in top company, this step back up to 1m4f should see him continue his return to winning ways at Dundalk last time out.
At a big price in Leg 2 at 2:00pm, Noel Meade’s ELYSIUM is worth a second look. Her sire, Belardo, has enjoyed a decent start to his new career and this filly is steadily progressing. Recorded a decent speed figure in second last time out and although she has plenty to find on bare form, she could run well under Billy Lee. No Speak Alexander will set the bar in the absence of Monday, who disappointed at Newmarket on Friday. A Ma Chere is another interesting one at a likely decent price.
A 5f Premier Handicap takes place at 2:30pm, Leg 3 in the Placepot and this is definitely the Torpedo leg for punters, with 18 speedsters set to post for a highly competitive affair. It could pay to have two, or even three on side in this one. Here’s our shortlist:
Goodnight Girl - Good speed figure in second at Cork last time and drop in trip is interesting.
Ardhoomey - Veteran who loves it here and has struck up a nice partnership with a good young rider.
Blairmayne - Often hits the frame, usually around here, and has to enter calculations again.
Leg 1: 13 Leg 2: 1,4,8 Leg 3: 2,6,11 Leg 4: 2,14 Leg 5: 8,17 Leg 6: 4
