We head to Leicester today for the Tote Placepot Pointers to try and win a share of the pool. On Saturday the Placepot paid a huge £25,404 to a £1 stake at Newbury showing just how great the bet can be.

How’s the going?

The sun will be out yet again as the rain draws in towards the end of the week. The going has been confirmed as good to firm and with a tail wind this may just help the front runners stay on that little bit longer.

The Big Trend

Adam Kirby has the most number of wins at Leicester this season and is working to a strike rate of 35%. Six wins in 17 races is pretty good going and today he has another three rides all of which fall into Placepot races.

Follow Suit (2:00pm, Leg 3), Strong Power (2:35pm, Leg 4), Firepower (3:05pm, Leg 5)

Placepot Banker

The fifth leg of the Placepot is an eight runner affair. We will have to keep a close eye on this as one non-runner will mean just two places will count to progress through to the final race. INDIAN SOUNDS (3:05pm, Leg 5) is one that should really be taking this race by the scruff of the neck. He is in wonderful form with three victories and two places in his most recent five appearances and despite the 5lb penalty Oisin Murphy will be able to guide this gelding to the line.

Outsider to Consider

The first leg of the Placepot is a 14-runner handicap where each and every horse has the ability to get to the front. DREAMBOAT ANNIE (1:00pm, Leg 1) is consistent and in good form which makes her worth a special look. She won last time out at Lingfield by some margin and with all nine outings since the return of racing looking very respectable she cannot be ignored in your placepot here.

Torpedo Leg

With just two places up for grabs in the second leg of the Placepot, this looks to be the race where a lot of units could tumble. Shine For You does not look to be the most backable favourite of the day having been beaten by a big priced stablemate last time out. Instead, SHUV H’PENNY KING (1:30pm, Leg 2) will be a risk worth taking first time out. He comes from the William Muir yard which is flying and the Twilight Son colt is an attractive looking sort.
