Cheeky Chesca

Race: Second in the racingtv.com EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Redcar (Tuesday)
Cheeky Chesca qualified for an opening rating when splitting market leaders in the 6f fillies' maiden at Redcar on Tuesday.
Tim Easterby's daughter of Invincible Army led but was pestered and edged left over a furlong out.  She rallied when headed inside the final furlong and was beaten only a neck by favourite Freedom Flame.  Second favourite Nour was third and they were clear of the rest.
Cheeky Chesca is improving and I'll be following her when switching to handicaps.

Treble Nine

Race: Second in the Fitzdares Telephone & Text Betting Maiden Stakes at Windsor (Monday)
Treble Nine deserves plenty of credit for his close second to experienced stablemate Mythical Valentine in the extended 1m3f three-year-old maiden at Windsor on Monday.
Andrew Balding's well bred son of Ghaiyyath was in touch with the leaders and made headway from over a furlong out before keeping on well.
The winner has having his fifth start but Treble Nine, who cost 60,000 guineas and is out of a sister to Derby runner-up Khalifa Sat, will improve plenty.

Qitaal

Race: Second in the Go West Plays Ladies' Day Saturday 4th July Handicap at Leicester (Monday)
The same day, at Leicester, Qitaal was unlucky when second in the 1m2f handicap.
Saffie Osborne's mount was in touch with the leaders but unable to find a clear passage when dropping to last after three-out.
He made headway two-out but was again denied a trouble-free route and went second close home.
Qitaal performed well when fourth at Hamilton last time but has run seventeen times without adding to three turf wins, so this is a good time to add him to the notebook.

Mussab

Race: Third in the Tomahawk EBF Restricted Novice Stakes at York (Saturday)
I presented Racing TV from York on Saturday and witnessed Mussab making a very pleasing introduction when a close third to fellow newcomer Possessive in the 6f novice.
Peter and Richard Fahey's quality colt cost 52,000 guineas at the breeze-up sales and the son of Ten Sovereigns has plenty of pace on his dam's side.
The winner had recently recorded a stunning piece of work, so this is strong form.

Reliable Ricki

Race: Won the Reg Bond 'Always and Forever' Handicap at York (Saturday)
Also on this card, I had been informed Reliable Ricki was still very well treated and he landed the on-screen nap in dramatic style.  Dropping in trip in the 7f handicap, Darragh Keenan's mount was in rear with less than two furlongs to run but steered to the outer and kept on relentlessly to lead in the final strides.
Improving with every run, the quality son of Elzaam also won from off the pace at Doncaster three weeks earlier and is ready for a return to further.
He won't go up much for this narrow victory, so will remain very well handicapped.

Supreme Clarets

Race: Ninth in the Team Effort Handicap at Haydock (Thursday)
Put a line through the performance of Supreme Clarets in the 7f three-year-old handicap at Haydock on Thursday.
The Faheys' gelded son of Supremecy was keen on the inner and repeatedly denied a clear run from over two-out.
Supreme Clarets was travelling well at the time and deserves more chances.
He was fourth at Wetherby off the same mark and acts on any ground.

Lone Warrior

Race: Second in the Free Bets On attheraces.com Maiden Stakes at Southwell (Thursday)
Across the card at Southwell, Lone Warrior qualified for a handy mark when a close second to fancied Harmonics in the 1m maiden.
George Scott's well backed four-year-old led over five furlongs out and although headed before the furlong pole, led again when carried left close home.
Lone Warrior was having his first start since leaving Andrew Balding's stable and can build on this return from 325 days off.
The son of New Bay is bred to improve.

Guadalevin

Race: Third in the antheraces.com/marketmovers Restricted Novice Stakes at Southwell (Thursday)
On the same card, Guadalevin ran a remarkable race when a close third in the 7f novice, despite showing signs of being in season.  Charlie Fellowes' newcomer, who was taking on colts, was keen towards rear and switched to the near side over a furlong out.
She made rapid headway in the last half-furlong and the daughter of State Of Rest, who is bred to improve, will progress markedly when back to full health.

Heldobeldo

Race: Second in the Unibet/British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes at Kempton (Wednesday)
Heldobeldo made a very satisfying debut when a close second to race-fit Magnesium in the 6f fillies' novice at Kempton on Wednesday.
James Owen's quality daughter of Kameko was always prominent and pressed the winner from over a furlong out.
Magnesium had the benefit of a recent run at Ascot, so Heldobeldo, who was very easy to back, deserves much credit.
The runner-up looks a fine buy at 26,000 guineas and will stay further.
