Meetings at Stratford and Plumpton hinge on inspections

Mon 12 Mar 2018

This afternoon's National Hunt meeting at Stratford must pass a 10.30am inspection.

Clerk of the course Nessie Chanter needs to check conditions a second time after an early-morning inspection was inconclusive.

More rain is forecast, with the going on the chase course heavy, and the going on the hurdles track heavy, soft in places.

Plumpton must pass a 9am inspection if this afternoon's jumps fixture is to go ahead.

The going at the track is heavy, but four millimetres of overnight rain did not help matters.

A statement issued by Plumpton read: "Currently raceable but monitoring rainfall."
