Consistent Love So Deep records Listed success at Newmarket

Love So Deep built on a string of consistent efforts to gain the biggest success of her career with victory in the British Stallion Studs EBF Chalice Stakes at Newmarket.

The Jane Chapple-Hyam-trained daughter of the late Deep Impact took her form to new heights in powering clear of her rivals to claim her first Listed success in the mile-and-a-half prize, having finished fourth over the course and distance at the same level last time out.

Hitting the front over a furlong from home, the 6-1 shot, who was fifth in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot two starts ago, found plenty for pressure to defeat the five-timer-seeking Bella Vita by two lengths.

Chapple-Hyam said: “She deserved that as she has been knocking on the door and has been running in good races. The other day I thought she would be third, but the eventual winner came in at the two-pole.

“She puts on weight and doesn’t lose it, so who knows, there might be another race for her. She got the trip well today.

“We will probably have to look at a Group Three or Group Two now.”
