Kempton Park Racecourse is set for an memorable occasion next month with afternoon racing complemented by a celebration of Veteran’s Day at the track's Community Raceday on Monday 5 May.
While VE Day itself falls on 8 May, this year Monday 5 May has been officially dedicated to community celebrations throughout the nation and this special raceday offers incredible value for visitors for just £5 per ticket, with all entertainment included in the admission fee.
Honouring the Victory in Europe commemorations, the Community Raceday offers a variety of activities for the whole family including themed entertainment and funfair rides. Adding significance to the occasion, Kempton Park are collaborating with the Sunbury and Shepperton Local History Society who will have a dedicated presence on the day. They will be sharing fascinating insights into Kempton Park and Sunbury’s role during World War II, providing visitors with the opportunity to reflect on the local community’s historical contributions.
Families are invited to enjoy the traditional Great British Picnic Zone where they can bring their own picnics and relax while enjoying a day’s racing and entertainment.

New Sensory Room unveiled
Additionally, Kempton Park Community Raceday will officially open the brand-new Sensory Room in partnership with Autism in Racing. This dedicated space will provide a calm, safe and inclusive environment for individuals with sensory processing needs. Families will have access to the Sensory Room throughout the day with expert hosts from Autism in Racing on hand to welcome and guide them.
This initiative underscores Kempton Park’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a day at the races in comfort. The Sensory Room will now be available on all racedays and event days ensuring continued support for those who may need it.
