3.05 Tramore: Dessie Deschamps
Dessie Deschamps' former trainer Colin McBratney has only a five per cent strike-rate with hurdlers and it could be that the move to Gordon Elliott will make all the difference to this horse, who was far from disgraced when last seen in action at Downpatrick in March.
4.15 Tramore: Jack Holiday
At the prices, Jack Holiday is interesting here. He ran really well in a maiden hurdle here and the trip was probably wrong on his handicap chase debut, when he took the eye without threatening. The rider booking is also quite notable.
4.30 Cork: Presgrave
This Camelot-bred showed ability on the all-weather and still seemed a bit raw when sixth on his handicap debut last time. He appeals as the type to progress with racing and cheekpieces look a good move.
5.30 Cork: Strongbowe
When interviewed before Strongbowe’s handicap debut, Paddy Twomey gave the impression he felt the Siyouni-bred was better than his mark. He was trapped wide, travelling well, before tiring in the straight as 11-4 favourite behind subsequent winner Centroid. He is readily forgiven that, and now equipped with a tongue-tie he is of major interest.
