There is nothing quite like Laytown, Europe's only official race meeting run on the beach which will be shown live on Racing TV this afternoon.
Whilst they race only over six or seven furlongs, and the races are of a modest quality, this is a race meeting that needs to be visited to be believed.
Over in County Kerry, they race for the hugely lucrative Kerry National. Be lucky.
Gavin Ryan is good value for his 7lb claim and Improving has a nice draw here. The ease in the ground is ideal, the track is fine, and he rarely runs a bad race, so looks the one to side with here.
Pillar is hard to win with, yet he came to hand this time last year, finishing third at Laytown off a rating of 57 before winning at Listowel.
The fact he competes off 47 here under Declan McDonagh is eye-catching and he ran a cracker last time behind My Good Brother, with whom he is 12lb better off yet a much bigger price.
Geological is trained on the beach nearby and won readily off 80 on Turf, when the ground was softer than ideal, earlier this year.
As genuine as they come, his rider booking and colours take the eye here.
This looks a two-horse race and, with Twenty Minutes far from convincing over seven furlongs, Lisa O'Neill can ride Commander Han aggressively and it should pay off.
