Johnny Ward's best bet for Fairyhouse on Saturday

Read about a Saturday morning fancy for our Irish expert plus watch On The Wire with Davy Roche, assistant trainer of Henry de Bromhead, a special guest

The performance of Jonbon at Newbury on Friday, catapulting him to favouritism for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, sets up the weekend rather nicely.

How will he compare to My Mate Mozzie, in action on Sunday? And what does Willie Mullins have to unveil in the same division?

We've an absolute belter of a card at Newbury on Saturday and a really difficult one for punters at Fairyhouse, with some likely short prices and taxing handicaps.

Here's one trained by Henry de Bromhead.

11.30 Fairyhouse: Holymacapony

Davy Roche was an excellent and informative guest on On The Wire this week and Henry de Bromhead's assistant was hopeful for Holymacapony, who is very interesting here.

The form of those shown by those who have jumped a fence is far from unbeatable and this horse comes here fit, having run well despite a somewhat sketchy round of jumping hurdling last time.

He's every inch a chaser, having won a point, and I imagine Darragh O'Keeffe will take the bull by the horns. He could be trading much shorter in running after a fence.
