Sunday's Irish Angle: Johnny Ward has four selections at Galway

I hope you won a few pounds or euros at Goodwood and Galway. The week was a slow burner for yours truly; hopefully we can end with a winner or two.
Daniel King showed why Tony Martin and Denis Hogan have been raving about him for some time. I'd struggle to split Martin and King in picking the MVP of the week at Ballybrit.
1.50 Galway: Teed Up
There is loads of possible pace in this race, which will be against Timurshah but very much in Teed Up’s favour.
While his hurdling story has been a flop since his last win, he seems to do far better at Galway and he’s clearly well-handicapped on either of his Flat spins this week here for a yard in form.
2.20 Galway: Caher Roes Den
Despite his profile, I would not at all bank on this horse improving from Downpatrick when I tipped him as he is trained by Willie Mullins – but he did not shape badly, having been really weak in the market, and he stays well.
I’d give him a better chance each-way than a few shorter than him in the market.

4.00 Galway: Lord Massusus
Has no chance on his run Tuesday but clearly that was all wrong, the headgear is quickly off and a tongue tie is on.
Joe Murphy won a big race since to get off the mark for 2026 (with a near miss in Friday’s feature).
This six-year-old was 14s on Tuesday and is 33s here in what looks a weaker race, while he is clearly well-treated if anywhere near his best (his other runs this season were pretty good).
4.30 Galway: Miss Cornelia
A cracking each-way bet at 9s.
Her yard is in far better form than when she was an unlucky sixth (beaten under five lengths) in a Leopardstown maiden in June, the form well advertised by the runner-up since.
Star Glory is a ridiculous price at 6-5 and there has to be value elsewhere, with the Murphy-trained Nathaniel-bred clearly it for me.
