Iain Jardine considers next move for Nakeeta

Wed 29 Aug 2018

Iain Jardine will discuss possible options for Nakeeta with the horse’s owners after his stable star could not repeat last year’s victory in the Ebor.

The seven-year-old was far from disgraced when seventh behind Muntahaa at York on Saturday in what was only his fourth race since he finished fifth in the Melbourne Cup in November.

Jardine is now looking at an autumn campaign nearer home for the Sixties Icon gelding.

“He seems all right. He’s fine,” said the Dumfries trainer.

“There’s a couple of options I’ve got for him, but I need to speak to the owners first. We’ll see.

“Fingers crossed he’ll have a nice autumn campaign.”
