Rohaan is favoured by the weights and really should be favourite, even allowing for Happy Romance, who was an also-ran in the July Cup last week, having won at this meeting for the past two years.

My other fancy on a tricky day, other than Maria Branwell in the Super Sprint, is Francky Du Berlais in the Unibet Summer Plate Handicap Chase at Market Rasen.

Peter Bowen has landed this prize on seven occasions and Francky Du Berlais, an emphatic winner of a strong renewal last year, is sure to be at peak.

He’s only 2lb higher for his defence and shaped well when third in the Summer Cup at Uttoxeter last time when not quite getting home. This shorter trip plays more to his strengths and it goes without saying he’s at home on fast ground.

Bowen also runs Statuario but he’s been expensive to follow during his three-year barren run.
