Horse racing tips: Dave Nevison's bets for Newmarket on Thursday

Top tipster Dave Nevison has two fancies for day one of Newmarket's Cambridgeshire meetings plus one at Chelmsford. Watch both meetings live on Racing TV.
2.25 Newmarket: Azure Blue

Azure Blue might be an each-way insurance bet here, given that the William Haggas-trained filly, Tarhib is likely to be a very short-priced favourite.
Michael Dods has his team in great form and this consistent filly probably has the best form on show in this race. Her slightly disappointing run last time out can be discounted, too, as the race was not run to suit.
The selection has won on the July course this summer, as well as at Hamilton, so I am not anticipating her having any issues coming out of the dip here, and the forecast strong pace will suit her very well.
4.45 Newmarket: Yantarni

Has been sent off a short-priced favourite for each of his four starts, but it took a gelding operation and a drop into handicaps to get him off the mark.
The son of Dubawi did look a different proposition on his seasonal debut, though, as he always travelled well and was just pushed out to score comfortably.
He also looked very comfortable off a rating of 80 in that contest, and has only been raised 5lb following that success, so I will be very surprised if that proves too much of an impost.
He won over this trip last time out, and it goes without saying that he will lack nothing in the saddle with William Buick on board.
6.15 Chelmsford: Masterclass

This three-year-old might be the answer in a wide-open handicap. David Simcock’s gelding is largely consistent and ran very well when narrowly defeated at Kempton this month plus has only been raised a pound in the weights following that effort.
This will only be his eighth career start, and he may still have some upside compared to most of his older, and more exposed, rivals.
He generally races just off the pace, and with the lead set to be contested fiercely here, that might put him in a strong position as the leaders weaken in the closing stages.
