Our pundit and resident website tipster Dave Nevison believes three contenders can go well on Tuesday's competitive card at Ayr. Enjoy more action from Cork live on Racing TV and Racing TV Extra.

It looks a competitive autumn card at a modest level at Ayr and, while I certainly won’t be going in big, I will be disappointed if my small each-way trixie doesn’t generate some return.

1.14 Ayr: Engles Rock

The booking of 3lb claimer Ryan Sexton leaves Engles Rock on the same mark as he won off last time and that has to put him in as near favourite for this competitive apprentices’ event.

Engles Rock came good after dropping to a favourable mark under this jockey over course and distance three starts ago and he has run very well in both outings since, winning a similar event under Paul Mulrennan last time out.

Autumn ground is no issue to him and I think he may just edge what looks a very tight race I think.

2.54 Ayr: Abduction

He is still well below the marks that he was running off for his previous yard and I think he could still have further improvement given that he is on a roll.

Abduction won at the Western Meeting here last time and should confirm that form with Judgement Call, who reopposes on 3lb better terms.

Not many jockeys ride Ayr better than Paul Mulrennan, and he should be able to sit just off the strong pace here.

5.10 Ayr: Tomorrow’s Angel

Tomorrow’s Angel is a consistent type at this level and will have fresher legs than some of his rivals here.

He has dropped to a mark just 2lb above his latest winning rating and improved greatly for his first run of this season when a staying on third last time out. Johnny Peate takes off a useful 5lbs.

Tristan Davidson has been quiet this summer but had a winner last week with Iris Dancer and hopefully will be primed for a good start to the coming jumps season.
