Graham Clark has four top tips for the action on Racing TV on Saturday.
2.53 Ayr: Square Necker
Square Necker faced a tall order against Constitution Hill on his British debut at Southwell, but he looked much more home switched to handicap company at Hamilton last time out.
The Kevin Philippart De Foy-trained gelding never looked like getting beat once hitting the front and fended off Humble Spark by a length and a half.
That rival re-opposes on better terms, but Square Necker appears the more progressive of the two and a 6lb rise shouldn’t prove too much of an inconvenience.
The form of that win has subsequently been boosted with the third since winning at Thirsk and he can compensation here for missing the cut at Royal Ascot.
3.11 Newmarket: Sea Cookie
Sea Cookie had proven frustrating in his first two starts when finding one too good, but there was plenty to like about the way he knuckled down on his return at Newbury.
While his task was made easier following the late withdrawal of chief market rival Jellystone Park, the son of Dark Angel showed plenty of resolve on his first start since being gelded.
An opening mark of 79 doesn’t look too excessive and now that he has got his head in front he can add to that tally on his handicap debut.
4.00 Redcar: Far Above The Law
It was this time last year that Adrestia was tasting victory at Royal Ascot, and while she brings a touch of class to the table, Far Above The Law arrives in much better form.
Having opened his account at Ascot two starts back off a mark of 78, he was only just denied following up off a mark of 84 at Thirsk last time.
He can effectively race off just 1lb higher than for his Ascot win with trainer Michael Herrington enlisting the services of seven-pound claimer Conor Whiteley, who has won on his last two rides for the Malton handler.
7.45 Nottingham: Paradise Walk
Things failed to conspire for Paradise Walk in two starts last season and in her first two outings this year before collecting at Windsor last time in a six-furlong handicap.
On more than one occasion she has looked as though dropping back to five furlongs could suit her having been picked off several times late on.
In receipt of weight from all her rivals, she also has the plus of a further 5lb taken off her back with promising apprentice Jack Dace taking the ride.
