Baker was forced to retire from the saddle last November after he suffered severe head injuries in a fall on the frozen lake at St Moritz nine months earlier.
He rode over 1,300 winners in a career spanning 18 years and enjoyed his first Classic success in the 2016 St Leger at Doncaster aboard the Laura Mongan-trained Harbour Law.
Baker has been used frequently as pundit on Racing UK in recent weeks, but is shortly set to begin a new career due to the impending retirement of Michael Haggas, the current agent of Godolphin’s two principal riders.
Baker said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity and I feel very honoured to have been asked to do it.
“I’ll take over at the end of the season, sort of thing. I’m going to go to spend a bit of time with Michael in October to see how he does things and we’ll go from there.”
Both Buick and Doyle have enjoyed fantastic campaigns so far.
Buick’s several Group One victories in 2018 include an Investec Derby success on Charlie Appleby’s Masar, while Doyle has won the Prince of Wales’s Stakes and the King George on Sir Michael Stoute’s Poet’s Word and the Irish and Yorkshire Oaks aboard Sea Of Class for William Haggas.
Baker added: “I’m in a very privileged position and I’m looking forward to it.”
