Hopefully I won’t be licking my Royal Ascot wounds for too long and I am hoping to get the new week off to a good start with these three selections at Beverley on Tuesday, live on Racing TV.
This year's Royal Ascot really was quite something for me. I have had bad meetings before and I am not expressing sour grapes at all, but I just couldn’t see where some of the results came from last week! Hopefully it might be a bit easier at the next two big meetings on the Flat in Britain - the Boodles July Festival and the Qatar Goodwood Festival!

Insolente won a seller over this course and distance in May and it is that factor that sways me to back her here, rather than Tantalus who runs consistently well but keeps getting beat plus remains a maiden.
The selection didn’t run badly when trying to follow up that victory in a similar race at Thirsk last time out where she was only beaten just over a length, and Rebecca Menzies, who had a 66-1 third in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot last week, remains in good form.
Johnny Peate is a positive jockey booking and his mount has stall one here, which is certainly not a disadvantage, so a solid run looks certain.

This mare was runner-up three times in succession before winning off this rating last year, but can hopefully shorten the sequence this season and score after being second twice this time around.
Valley Of Flowers has run two good races this season, including in an Amateur Jockeys contest last time out, and Racing TV ambassador Paul Mulrennan, who remains in fine form, takes over here. That certainly can’t be a bad thing, and Valley of Flowers has run some good races at Beverley on several occasions.
She is evidently capable of winning off this rating, so fingers crossed this is her turn.
I tipped Westernesse at York last time out and while he didn’t win, he maintained his ultra-consistent record plus contests a less competitive race on Tuesday, even though it's the same grade.
He may have done better on the Knavesmire if he was quicker away, and I imagine Danny Tudhope will be alive to that possibility here and therefore be aiming to get a decent pitch from stall two.
An abundance of placed efforts during his career may be a concern, but Westernesse did record a win at Pontefract two starts ago and, I am not questioning his attitude at all at this stage.
