Free horse racing tips: Dave Nevison's bets for Thursday

Sassy Belle is proven on very soft ground and her handler remains in fine form. She also has a change of headgear plus Oisin Murphy is booked to ride, so there are plenty of positives.

Tough Enough is the improving three-year-old against a field of exposed handicappers here, some of whom are irregular winners, and the selection looks a solid option.

His dam was a 7f winner, so I would be reasonably sure that he will appreciate the step up in trip on Thursday.

James Tate's charge was out of the frame for the first time last time out but that was in a £100k handicap at the July meeting, and he probably produced a career best as he had to be switched plus was certainly not fading at the line.

He will be suited by a good pace and as long as he stays this trip, I think he wins this.

Daniel and Claire Kubler have booked William Buick to ride Southwold who wears cheekpieces for the first time, which immediately catches the eye in this very competitive handicap that closes the card.

The four-year-old has been a beaten favourite on his past two outings after a victory at Southwell, but he ran respectably on both occasions, including on good to soft ground last time out.

He gets this trip well and looks to have plenty going for him, especially as he is lightly raced compared to most of his rivals.
