Brian Ellison is to send Definitly Red on the short journey to his neighbour Richard Fahey's stables for a workout on Saturday morning as part of his preparation for the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Ellison reports his stable star to be in rude health and just feels the three-and-a-half-mile trip across Malton will benefit the nine-year-old, with the big race just a fortnight away.

"He's flying, he's in great form. Obviously we've got two weeks to go," said Ellison.

"We're taking him to Richard Fahey's gallop in the morning for a bit of work, just to break it up a bit because he's fit, he's well and everything.

"After that, we'll just keep him ticking over. You just wish it was now really.

"He'll run well and whether he wins or not, he'll still run a big race."

Definitly Red is generally available at around 16-1 after booking his place in the Festival field with victory in the Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham in January.
