Triple Group One winner Decorated Knight to stand at Irish National Stud

Multiple Group One winner Decorated Knight will take up stallion duties at the Irish National Stud in 2018.

The Roger Charlton-trained five-year-old struck three times at the highest level this year, landing the Jebel Hatta in Dubai and the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh before his career-defining success in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown in September.

He made his final appearance before retirement at Del Mar last Saturday, finishing down the field in the Breeders' Cup Turf.

Cathal Beale, CEO of the Irish National Stud, told the Irish Field: "The Irish National Stud are thrilled at add a high-class son of Galileo to our burgeoning roster.

"With performance, physical and pedigree to die for, Decorated Knight ticks all the boxes."

Tony Nerses, advisor to Decorated Knight's owners Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar, added: "Decorated Knight has the distinction of being the best horse bred by Blue Diamond Stud and we're delighted that he is to stand at the Irish National Stud.

"He possesses an excellent turn of foot as well as durability that saw him win three Group One races this season
