Our top tipster and pundit Dave Nevison has three best bets this Tuesday at Beverley and Thirsk. See how they all fare live on Racing TV!
3.30 Beverley: Heartened
Ollie Pears's three-year-old filly has shown glimmers of ability, including off a much higher mark, and put up her best effort last time over course and distance.
She was upped in trip and had cheekpieces applied for the first time and both changes combined seemed to suit her well.
She is a couple of pounds better off with Quirke On Parole who beat her and I am hopeful she can turn things around under similar ground conditions.
5.00 Beverley: Park Street
Tina Jackson has a small string, but her runners are certainly in top form at present with a couple of winners already in July, and I am hoping the stable fortune rubs off on Park Street, who has had excuses, to a greater or lesser extent, on each of his last four runs, including when carrying my money a couple of starts ago.
A hold-up horse who often hits trouble when trying to make his move, I am working on the possibly unsound theory that things must eventually change, especially with the handicapper giving him a real chance dropping the gelding to a mark of 61.
He was a never nearer fourth in this race last year off 72 and last won a race off 68, so he is clearly thrown in and will have his day soon.
8.00 Thirsk: Brazilian Belle
Brazilian Belle might have had a tough task to beat Lady Roxby last time out as the winner looked a class above her rivals.
However, she got no sort of run and might definitely have been able to lay down some sort of challenge had she been able to get through. A clear run would surely have seen the Michael Dods filly go up in the weights and she could therefore be well in for this eight-runner sprint handicap.
She hasn’t been out of the money in each of her three runs at Thirsk and clearly handles this track well.
