Dave Nevison's Wednesday tips: three bets at Catterick

Kelijoe has possibly taken a while to get things right in this country, but it certainly looked as though the penny had finally dropped at Doncaster last time out. I think he can press on and progress now. 

This French bumper winner has not had things go his way since joining Stuart Edmunds, and it is fair to say he has suffered a couple of moderate rides in his short career. He also did not take to the tongue tie that was applied on his penultimate outing, so his form figures probably don’t tell the whole story. 

He won well last time, though, and deserved a 7lb rise in the weights. I believe he will follow up over the same trip here.

Sandy Thomson has not had a great time of things for a while, but it does seem as though his team have finally come right, and Wolfburg actually looked transformed last time out. 

On just his second run over fences, and with a tongue tie and cheekpieces added, he bolted up by over nine lengths at Wetherby on Boxing Day. He has been raised 6lb for that success, which could be generous.

It remains to be seen whether Wolfburg will be in the same form, but with the Thomson-trained runners generally going well, he is worth siding with. 

Rukaana is another last time out winner who bids to follow up in a big field (of very moderate rivals) at Catterick on Wednesday. 

Rukaana is a decent middle-distance handicapper on the flat but has taken a good while to get off the mark over hurdles for the O’Neill yard.

However, he did it in style at a speed-favouring Windsor last time out, and Catterick is a similar, sharp track, which will suit him well. Although the handicapper has taken a swipe raising him 9lb for that victory, his flat speed might see him through again.
