4.15 Doncaster: Commander Of Life

Finished: 1stSP: 7/4
Commander Of Life won over this course and distance in July last year and ended last season with a win off a 3lb higher mark than he races off this afternoon.
The Jessica Macey-trained gelding has gradually returned to form recently having been given a chance by the handicapper and ran really well last time out when second at Newbury.
Two winners have already come from that race and the form looks strong. He can finally go one better this season despite being put back up 2lb.
4.48 Doncaster: Mariner

Finished: 4thSP: 13/2
Mariner won over the straight mile at Doncaster last April and looks poised to score again after a good third last time out.
He finished third in an apprentices event at Nottingham which was a big improvement on recent efforts and wouldn’t need to progress much further to score here.
He is 1lb lower and trainer Jennie Candlish has booked a very good 3lb claimer in Jack Callan, so he looks very favourably weighted in this 0-65 company which is roughly the grade in which he won three races last season.
5.17 Sandown: Sail On Sailor

Finished: 5thSP: 5/2
Sail On Sailor came back fresh after a month off last time and completed his hat trick wins in three-year-old only competition in good style.
He moves up to all aged company here for the first time, but looks as though he could take it in his stride.
He will definitely be well suited if the likely fast pace transpires in this event, he did well to come from behind in a slowly run race last time out and Sandown’s uphill finish will suit him back to a mile. The booking of Rossa Ryan certainly takes the eye.
