Dave Nevison's Saturday tips: 16-1 chance among four best bets

Top tipster Dave Nevison bids to continue his good form with four selections on the final day of the Sky Bet Ebor Festival at York on Saturday, with every contest live on Racing TV.

1.50 York: Archivist
Archivist may have been plying his trade in handicaps up until now, but he can certainly figure in a Group Three such as this and is backable each-way at around 16-1.
Formerly with William Haggas, he was backed off the boards to win last season’s John Smith's Cup (after previously winning over this course and distance) but only managed third with the mile and a quarter trip seemingly just stretching him.
He was also supported into favouritism for this year's Hunt Cup but wasn’t drawn well enough and disappointed. However, he was last seen winning a top handicap at Goodwood when relatively unconsidered at 16-1.
He will obviously be well suited by this return to a mile at York and can go well in a competitive affair.
Sky Bet Ebor Festival - free-to-play game
3.35 York: Klassleader
Some Racing TV viewers will know I backed Klassleader for this race after watching him win the “win and you are in” handicap over 12 furlongs at the Dante meeting. He looked very much like an Ebor winner to me there and William Haggas has had two winners of that race go off favourite in the Ebor.
Even though neither of them won, it is clearly the route he wants to take and it looks only a matter of time before he wins this race.
Klassleader was backed off the boards for a handicap at Newmarket on his only run since, but that came on firm ground which didn’t look to suit him at all.
His dam won a Group Three on heavy and the four-year-old will be better suited by today’s conditions. The yard is in good form and he will go well.
4.10 York: Air Force One
Air Force One got me off to a cracking start in the opening race of the meeting and, watching the race back, I am pretty sure he would have won on Wednesday with 5lb more on his back.
The Geoff Oldroyd sprinter was overdue such a performance having threatened to come good for a while, and now that he has struck winning form, I am happy to stick with him.
Air Force One has lucked out with the draw again with stall 3 and one of the main reasons for putting him up was his good effort over six furlongs here on his penultimate start.
I have no problems with sprinters being turned out again quickly and P J Mcdonald obviously knows the horse well. It is difficult to see him not running well.

5.20 York; Diego El Queso
Ger Lyons had primed this gelding perfectly for his recent outing at Goodwood and his physical wellbeing exuded through the television screen.
However, he suffered Goodwood’s cruel side and was denied a run for most of the straight, and went past the post passing several horses easily despite not having been let down fully.
On a much more conventional track and in a race that should be run to suit, I expect Diego El Queso to get a much clearer run through.
The five-year-old is probably better suited by cut in the ground than several of his rivals and the trip is ideal.
