Dave Nevison's top tips for Tuesday: Save something for House Deposit

It is low grade but competitive stuff on Racing TV on Tuesday evening, when myself and Tom Stanley will be endeavouring to find a few winners for you from the studio.

I’ve got three early fancies for the action at Ayr.

5.15 Ayr: House Deposit

House Deposit is having his second spell with Declan Carroll and it is proving to be lucrative.

Unusually this horse didn’t get on well at Roger Fell’s yard and tumbled in the weights during last season, which means that even though he has already won and been second for Carroll he is still 5lb lower than for his final run for the yard as a two-year-old.

His second last time out behind The Big House, who he meets again, can be marked up as he came from too far back. Provided the in-form Paul Mulrennan, who rides him for the first time, avoids a similar error I am convinced he will reverse that form.

Put your house on it: The Big House beat House Deposit at Catterick this month and the pair meet again - but Dave ~Nevison believes the tables will be turned

5.50 Ayr: Erich Bloch

This horse shaped well on his first start for Roger Fell at Beverley last month, having previously been trained by Ger Lyons.

He drifted quite markedly in the market but ran a very creditable third behind two well-handicapped runners.

The handicapper has left him unchanged, which is fair, and this represents a good opportunity. I am a little surprised he has not run again in the intervening month or so but Ben Curtis retains the ride and I am hoping he just needed a little recovery time and will have come on for that good effort.

8.30 Ayr: Three Castles

If I could be sure this horse puts everything into his finish I would be thinking he was a good thing here, as I believe the step up in trip is what he has been waiting for.

He has definitely got the trip racing over hurdles last winter, where he was tried up to Listed class, and faces much more limited opposition back on the Flat.

There is likely to be a contested lead despite the small field. If the front runners wilt, then Three Castles could sweep past without having to show much resolve.
