Dave Nevison's top tips for Tuesday: Diaz can prove a knockout at Kempton

Our top tipster reveals his best bets for the racing action at Kempton on Tuesday, one of two meetings live on Racing TV.

1.15 Kempton: Rodrigo Diaz

Rodrigo Diaz Looks to be the only horse in this race with progress left in him and is very well bred to be languishing off a low handicap mark.

It is pretty clear his first three runs over a mile were to get a mark, and a good job was done which was evidenced on his handicap debut last time out.

Off a mark of just 59 and upped in trip, he bolted up in a 0-60 at Lingfield and is clearly way better than that.

Things won’t be as easy for him in this slightly higher grade, but the race he won is working out well as the runner-up has scored since and a horse beaten more than ten lengths was placed on his next start.

I expect Rodrigo Diaz to comfortably deal with this largely exposed bunch.

1.45 Kempton: Sea Of Marmoon

Now a non-runner

This is another three-year-old by Golden Horn and can land the second division of this handicap.

Campaigned typically aggressively by her trainer this season, she is improving gradually with each run and has found a race where she is likely to get the lead, and possibly dictate.

Sea Of Marmoon was narrowly beaten in a Lingfield handicap last time out but had a subsequent winner well behind, so it may have been a strong race for the grade.

Only the Ed Dunlop-trained Helian looks a possible improver, but with a pace advantage likely to be in her favour, I am happy to side with the Johnston filly.

3.45 Kempton: La Manquina

La Manquina has been pitched into a race where a strong pace is guaranteed, so it is certain to be run to suit, and provided he does not rear as the stalls open like he did last time out, he should go very close.

A slowish start has become the norm from him, but he is largely consistent and produced a really good performance last time when a fast-finishing second.

He is back to a mark just a 1lb higher than his last win and has scored over this course and distance in the past. Nicola Currie knows him well and has been on board for both his victories so far, which is another positive.
