Thursday looks a really tough day to tip horses. I usually manage to find angles in handicaps, either from class droppers, underrated improvers, jockey switches or simply better jockeys in amateur races and pace/draw angles.
However, all the races on Thursday look ridiculously trappy at all meetings.
That’s my excuses in early! I did have three selections at Haydock – which will be shown live on Racing TV - where there is rain forecast, but two of them are now non-runners. Best of luck.
Glasses Up has looked a horse ready to win for a little while now and signalled his time must be very near with a good run, though outclassed, behind Nicholas T at Ayr last time out.
He doesn’t run away from Ayr too often and this is competitive enough, but Glasses Up is in a race guaranteed to be run at a pace which should suit him perfectly.
However, the trip is possibly an issue. He did not stay 14 furlongs the only time he has tried it, but has shaped in the past as though it will suit.
He has not run in a 0-80 since the last time he won off exactly the same mark here. Despite trip reservations, I make Glasses Up my best bet on a tough afternoon and rates an each-way bet at 6-1.
