Dave Nevison's top horse racing tips for Beverley on Tuesday

The Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup Festival went as I’d predicted with just one winning tip from me over a terrific three days. Fortunately, it went in at 16-1 so I was happy enough.

I believe we saw a Group One sprinter getting beaten by the draw in the Gold Cup on Saturday and I will be with Great Ambassador for some time yet.

Beverley is one of only a few courses that has managed to attract decent fields all season and deserves credit for a good job being done. It has been pretty kind to me as well, so hopefully the below trio can continue a decent run.

2.25 Beverley: La Rav

Has been rated much higher in the past so might still have a few pounds in hand even after going up for winning in good style last time out.

That success came over Tuesday’s course and distance, when he pounced late off a good pace to win convincingly from the in-form Arranmore. He can confirm that form, albeit on worse terms.

A strong pace is again on the cards, which will clearly suit him well, and he is a fresh horse for the time of year.

4.10 Beverley: Broctune Red

Rattled up three quick wins on the all-weather in the early part of the year and is rated much higher on artificial surfaces.

I am not convinced his improvement is confined to the all-weather. I see him more as a horse who runs himself into form and he could be poised to score on turf this autumn off a good mark.

Trips of about a mile would seem to suit him well and Joanna Mason take another valuable 3lb off his back. He has most of the pace horses drawn just inside of him, so should be able to sit just off the gallop.

5.15 Beverley: Buford

Is a lightly raced improver who has bagged a perfect draw here in stall 3 with two confirmed front-runners battling it out inside of him.

He should be able to sit in the perfect position and hopefully take it up close home.

Grant Tuer, his trainer, continues to place his runners well and has given Buford a rest after he ran twice within three days last month Hopefully, Burford will have benefitted from the short break and can take advantage.
